US slump set to hit textile exports target, says Rana
  Economic slowdown in the US and the September 11 episode are set to drag down Indian textile exports target in the current fiscal, when it is expected to decline by six to seven per cent, textiles minister Kashiram Rana said on Monday.
Rudy asks embassies to help boost pharma exports to Africa
  The recent Doha agreement on Trips, which enables the developing countries to procure generic versions of life-saving drugs for fatal diseases like AIDS, malaria and TB, presents a new opportunity to accelerate the country’s pharma exports, said minister of state for commerce and industry Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
   
Embroidered garments also to get drawback at all-industry rates
  The revenue department has clarified that the all-industry rates of drawback allowed to readymade garments will also be applicable to embroidered garments and any fluctuations due to embroidery is taken care of by drawback caps.
Price hikes to make TN eligible for fresh loans
  The recent bus fare and electricity tariff hikes and price revision of commodities under public distribution system and fiscal reforms initiated by the state government are expected to fetch Rs 3,070 crore in this fiscal.
