Land laws impede formulation of SEZ Act
  The existing land acquisition laws, the Electricity Supply Act and the Indian Electricity Act as well as a slew of revenue laws are proving to be major stumbling blocks in the path of formulation of a comprehensive Special Economic Zone Act which would provide a competitive edge to these zones similar to that being enjoyed by Chinese SEZs.
Alliance Cap MF hit by Rs 346-cr H1 loss
  Alliance Capital Mutual Fund has suffered a staggering loss of almost Rs 346 crore on investments during the first-half period ended September 30, 2001.
Swiss firm BTS-IA launches Indian operations
  The Switzerland-based investment advisory firm, BTS Investment Advisors Ltd which has taken over the mandate to manage the Swiss Technology Venture Capital Fund (Private) Ltd has launched its Indian operations on Wednesday.
State adjusts MSEB arrears against subsidy payment
