Leading UK-based professional marketing organisation, The
Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), has formally launched
its internationally recognised programme in India.
Founded in 1911, the CIM is one of the largest bodies of marketing
professionals with over 60,000 members across 140 countries.
Its programmes are taught through a global network of some
360 accredited centres. Its aim is to equip students with
a high level of ability and knowledge that can be practically
applied to meet corporate objectives. In India, it is selecting
and accrediting suitable colleges, business schools and institutions
to conduct its study programmes. The programmes will commence
from January, 2002, with the first exams scheduled for June.
CIM qualifications are offered at four levels: foundation
certificate in marketing, certificate in marketing, advanced
certificate and post-graduate diploma in marketing.
According to Mr David Sagar, CIM’s director of education,
‘‘CIM is working in partnership with corporate and academic
communities and through a process of academic and business
advisory councils to ensure that its qualifications match
the demands of the Indian marketers.’’
Marketing professional Mr Shunu Sen, CEO of Quadra Advisory,
was awarded the Companion of Honour at the launch ceremony.
