Reshuffle brings Fernandes, Pathak back to Union Cabinet
  The National Democratic Alliance convenor and Samata Party leader George Fernandes was reinducted into the Union Cabinet on Monday in a limited expansion of the council of ministers effected by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, in which Mr Harin Pathak was also included as a minister of state.
US jets launch strongest daylight attacks in Afghan
  In the biggest daylight raids so far, US jets pounded targets around Kabul on Monday and attacked military headquarters and a suspected terrorist training camp near the eastern city of Jalalabad.
DRDO scientist cautions on biological warfare
  The government has cautioned the people to be on high alert against the possibility of biological and chemical warfare by terrorists in India, following reports of anthrax exposure in the US.
Sinha warns of adverse impact of war on economy
  The finance minister Yashwant Sinha has warned of further adverse impact on the Indian economy in the wake of the September 11 attacks on the United States and then the Afghanistan conflict.
