Marubeni seeks government nod to be EPC

New Delhi, oct 14: Marubeni India has sought government’s approval to operate as an engineering and procurement contractor (EPC) and supplier of indigenous, imported equipment for industrial and core projects.

In a recent application to Foreign Investment Promotion Board, it has sought government nod for operating either as a sub-contractor or EPC contractor or supplier of equipment while stating that it would actively work with Indian companies to enhance the share of these companies in the projects. The company is only permitted now to procure goods for specific requirements being implemented by Marubeni not for third party use or for onward transfer, distribution or sale.
