Birla Sun Life plans to sell 30,000 policies

Our Economic Bureau

Bangalore, Oct 14: Birla Sun Life Insurance (BSLI) is planning to sell 30,000 policies in the first year of its operation in the country. The company hopes that the average premium on these policies is two to four times higher than the average premium reported by the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC). The Aditya Birla Group group financial services director SK Mitra said, “We will expand very conservatively since insurance companies are by nature conservative. We have today established a presence in Karnataka with the opening of a branch office in Bangalore and we will move cautiously from here.”
