Kolkata jute goods market bullish

Our Commodities Bureau

Kolkata, Oct 14: The trading activities at the local jute goods markets showed a considerable improvement, as the sugar mills started placing orders for A Twill bags because of the crushing operations which would begin soon. Earlier, in the face of higher ruling prices of A Twills bags, most of the sugar mills in the country took a wait and watch policy so that prices would come down to an affordable range.

In fact, it moved up to Rs 2,850-2,900 per 100 bags during the early October period from Rs 2,750-2,850, prevailing during the month of Sept. Since the cane crushing season was coming closer, all the sugar mills rushed to book their requirements.
