Sinha meets officials over boosting public investment

New Delhi, Sept 17: The finance minister Yashwant Shina had a long meeting with finance secretary Ajit Kumar and expenditure secretary CM Vasudev on Monday to work out concrete proposals for pushing public investment and firming up schemes to give a boost to the economy.

According to sources, more concrete steps to give boost to economy are likely to announced in the next couple of days. The finance ministry on Sunday had decided to raise ceiling on foreign institutional investment from 49 per cent to 100 per cent. Sources added that the minister will take some concrete proposals for furthering economic reforms programme to the union cabinet which is scheduled to meet on Tuesday.
