The state-run Bhel is exploring
the possibility of setting up a subsidiary to take care of the
production and sale of its battery-powered vehicle ElectraVan.
However, the company is of the view that the formation of a
subsidiary will be linked to the volumes. |

Tata Engineering has reported
an increase of 9.8 per cent in sales volume at 14,399 vehicles
in August 2001 as against 13,108 vehicles sold in August 2000.
Sales of the Indica rose for the third consecutive month, with
a growth of 49 per cent at 5,157 vehicles in August 2001. |
