Tata Teleservices rolls out post-paid Net service

Our eFE Bureau in Hyderabad

INDIA’S first post-paid Internet service on a regular telephone line NetReady, was launched by Tata Teleservices Limited, the private basic service provider in Andhra Pradesh. “It is our first initiative towards embarking on convergence,” the company’s chief operating officer, Mr Ajay Pandey, said. “One need not worry over chances of losing hours like in the pre-paid ISP,” he added.

The unique feature of the NetReady service is to enable the existing customers access to Internet and pay the bill later along with the telephony bill, he said. Any customer can access the net with a registration fee of Rs 100. The company has come out with two packages— Surf@ease offers customers hours of access at Rs 11 per hour and Surf@unlimited offers unlimited usage at Rs 330 per month.

“No advances, no limitations on usage, no need to keep watching the hours of usage, no wastage of hours of usage and surf as much as one want,” Mr Ajay Pandey said. The prerequisite for availing this service is that the applicant should have a Tata Tele connection . The consumer can use a DoT connection too for accessing the Net as long as there is a billing relationship with Tata Tele. Each customer is given a password to access the services.
