Bourses may be allowed to raise bank funds for margin trading
  The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is likely to consider the issue of stock exchanges borrowing funds and lending the same to brokers so as to facilitate participation in margin trading activities currently being debated among market participants and the markets regulator.
Developing nations seek affordable access to essential, life-saving drugs
  The Trade-Related Intellectual Property Rights (Trips) Council is scheduled to meet in Geneva next month to consider the demand of developing nations that they be allowed to adopt measures to provide affordable access to essential medicines and life-saving drugs.
Cell operators may seek action on signal disruption by MTNL, BSNL
  The Cellular Operators’ Association of India (COAI) is considering asking the Telecom Commission (TC), the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) and the Wireless Planning Commission (WPC) to ‘crack the whip’ on Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) for failing to put up suitable filters to their CDMA transmitters that have been severely affecting the cell companies’ networks.
Steel ministry moots plans for revival of HSCL, BRL
  The steel ministry has proposed to the finance ministry revival plans for Hindustan Steel Construction Ltd (HSCL) and Bharat Refractories Ltd (BRL), said steel minister BK Tripathy on Friday.
