TCS to add 3,000 staffers this fiscal, may go for IPO
  Despite the US slowdown inflicting the bottoms of IT majors, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has proposed to add 3,000 more staff to its total strength during this fiscal. The company is also considering entering into the market.
'Greater need to bring in more hardware units'
  India may miss the ‘hardware bus’ too if it does not create a conducive atmosphere to bring in more hardware units. The country cannot take-off without the penetration of PCs, digital and hardware components, Tata Consultancy Services vice-chairman FC Kohli said.
Market capitalisation of 45 NBFCs rose by 12.2%
  THE aggregate market capitalisation (the market price multiplied by the number of shares) of traded scrips of the selected 45 NBFCs have increased by 12.2 per cent to Rs 11,329 crore in August 24, 2001 from the level of Rs 10,094 crore on March 30, 2001. Market capitalisation reveals the rating of shares of a company on the stock exchange.
Essar Oil planning to delist from small stock exchanges
  ESSAR Oil is seeking to be delisted from the stock exchanges of Delhi, Madras, Ahmedabad, Vadodra and Calcutta. This decision was made by the board of Essar Oil on Thursday.
