Thermax to kick off US arm in April

Pune, March 14: Thermax Limited has set up a wholly-owned subsidiary company, Thermax Inc, in the US. Thermax Inc., located in Detroit, will start operations from April 2001 and will be engaged in establishing a distinct identity for Thermax Limited as a multinational energy equipment, chemical and services company. The subsidiary will act as the exclusive front-end value chain for all the major businesses and subsidiaries of Thermax Limited, states a note issued by the company.

The US subsidiary will develop and sustain markets in North and South America. It will also nurture long-term partnerships with OEMs in USA and strengthen technology sourcing and alliances for Thermax. Thermax's new export strategy will target major global players by offering quality solutions in energy and environment projects, worldwide. Thermax Limited intends to market and support its established range of products and services such as resins for water treatment and speciality applications, absorptions chillers for air-conditioning and process cooling, cogeneration solutions, bio-mass fired boilers for niche markets, heat recovery units and engineering/consultancy services. This is the second Thermax overseas subsidiary the company that has been operationalised in this financial year, to be headed by Mr SS Shastri. The earlier one was ME Engineering, a subsidiary based in the UK. ME Engineering has notched up orders worth $7.5 million.
