...plans to set up training centres

Mumbai: Discreet plans to tie up with training institutions to set up `Discreet training centers' in India. These centers will introduce a game developers course that ranges from 3 months to 1 year. As a part of their strategy the company plans to host an event that focuses on bringing international game publishers to the country by middle of this year. The company will also conduct technology seminars at all major animation centers. The company has been launching a slew of products such as the recently announced `GMAX' that is a cutomising tool for game users, 3ds max 4 which according to Mr Pankaj Kedia, Regional Manager-South Asia, is a big development in terms of gaming. The company will also introduce plug-ins for specific games development. Discreet will be utilizing their existing reseller channel for the distribution of these products. Mr Kedia added that though a similar move has already been initiated in Singapore and Korea, the revenue model for India has yet to be decided.
