Discreet unveils new animation solution

Mumbai: Discreet, a division of Autodesk Inc launched two new versions of its animation and rendering solution - 3 Ds Max 4 and a non-linear editing package - edit 6 in India. The company hopes to generate approximately 35 per cent of its revenues through these products. 3 Ds max 4 is the most significant release of the 3D modeling animation and rendering solution for visual effects, character animation and next generation gaming. Mr Pankaj Kedia, regional manager-South Asia says "3 Ds Max is already the industry's preferred animation solution, and the ground breaking advances in version 4 set a new bar for integrating 3D within the workflow of post-production and game development for animators and studios. The strategy for this is to pitch it as the most cost-effective tool with the best of class tools in it."Mr Kedia added that 80 per cent of the broadcasters in the country and the major production houses use edit for their content requirement. Edit 6 is a high performance offline and online non-linear package with advanced editing, graphics and effects creation, offering integration with the other Discreet non-linear solutions.
