Bangalore: The US-based Glow Networks hopes to generate a revenue of $ 100 million by 2003 as the demand for bandwidth across the world has touched a critical mass. Speaking to The Financial Express Glow Networks vice president Indian operations Dr Mohan Sharma said the network engineer solution provider would be the bridge between optical fibre cable companies and service providers. The US company had begun its operations in India late last year. "We are already talking to some of the leading OFC players and service providers in the country", Mr Sharma said. India and Asia Pacific region could leapfrog into global bandwidth with the OFC network, he said adding that Glow Networks would leverage its experience in the US market with the emerging opportunities in the new areas. Mr Sharma also said that Bangalore is going to be the hub centre for its operations in the region. According to Mr Sharma Glow provides planning, design and engineering that is essential for the introduction of optical and wireless related products and technologies in service provider enviornments. The core competency of the company is in the areas of optical networking and technology and wireless transport architecture.
The value proposition provided by Glow includes planning, designing and optimising the networks. The company also partners with the customers engineering division to meet their business needs, help position products to ensure optimum utilisation in a network, engineer customer's equipment requirements and conduct site surveys to ensure accelerated and efficient networks deployments, customise offerings that blends with in-house processes and methodologies of the customer. The company also provide technical expertise to ensure competitive leadership through continuous learning environment.
