Mumbai, March 12: NSE.IT, the 100 per cent IT arm of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), is all set to provide risk management products, services and solutions for the derivatives market. The company is also planning to market its sophisticated surveillance system to stock exchanges worldwide.Speaking to The Financial Express, NSE.IT chief executive officer Satish Naralkar said, "NSE.IT is to foray into the derivatives segment as it has already created a unique position for financial products in the cash market.
There is a demand in the market for similar risk management system for order routing in the derivatives market and this demand is likely to gather pace with the introduction of stock options. The introduction of risk management tools would significantly ease the trading in the derivatives market beside integrating it with the cash market."
"NSE.IT is also planning to explore the overseas stock exchanges to market its real time surveillance system. We are initially targeting the newly set up smaller exchanges in the south east Asian region. The real time surveillance system of NSE is among the most advance in the world," added Mr Naralkar.
NSE.IT is also targeting stock exchanges worldwide for providing IT consultancy and implementation services. The company plans to introduce one more new product for brokers - a decision support system - an analytical tool for analysis of stock movement and trading pattern of the clients. The brokers community already has the data available at their back office but they are devoid of any tool for analysis. The analytical tool would help the brokers to leverage on their strengths and to minimise their weaknesses. The analysis would help brokers to improve their business.
NSE.IT is also toying with the idea of developing financial applications for insurance companies and e-learning for the corporate sector, which would provide an online interactive learning course to all corporates.
To address the current and future requirements of broking houses, NSE.IT would continue to add more facilities to its existing products. NSE.IT's expertise in these areas is their primary focus. The company also plans to provide consultancy and implementation services in the areas of data warehousing, business continuity plans, stratus mainframe facility management, site maintenance and backups, real time market analysis and financial news.
