Veecon in collaborationwith Kuraray Chem

New Delhi, March 12 : VEECON-IPA Gastechnik, an Indo-German joint venture (JV), has entered into a technical collaboration with Kuraray Chemical Co of Japan to introduce second generation Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) technology for the production of nitrogen gas.

Announcing this collaboration here on Monday, company managing director said: "As a test case exercise, we had installed around seven plants in India in the last six months and have received an excellent response due to better performance of the Kuraray PSA plant. After this initial success we now plan to go ahead for full-scale production."

Speaking on the occasion, Kuraray Chemical head (international sales) T Ikegawa said: "We have found in Veecon-IPA an ideal partner for manufacturing PSA nitrogen generation plants. With this experience of introducing and successfully implementing new technologies in India Kuraray Chemical shall be able to gain a strong foothold in the Indian market."Mr Srivastav says this new technology will cut the costs of setting up and running a nitrogen plant. He said the company' target are sectors like pharmaceutical industry, metallurgical industry,food processing electronics where there is an immense scope for nitrogen plants.

Veecon-IPA is a JV of Veecon group and IPA Gastechnik Kg & Co, Germany where the latter has a majority stake in the company. The company specialises in design, engineering, manufacturing and commissioning of industrial gas generation plants. The company also has a collaborations with US-based MG Generon and Hydrogen Systems of Belgium.

Kuraray Chemicals is a general manufacturer of activated carbon, particularly granular activated carbon.
