HLF Enterprises in talks with global hotel chains

New Delhi, Feb 27 : HLF Enterprises Ltd is in talks with leadinginternational hotel chains including Hilton for setting up a 225-roomfive-star deluxe hotel in Gurgaon, just across the border of Delhi, at anestimated cost of Rs 150 crore.

"We are in talks with leading international chains including Hilton of theUS for a technical arrangement and expect to sign the deal soon," HLFEnterprises president Raj Singh Gehlot told The Financial Express.

The company is primarily engaged in the activity of construction ofresidential houses and is setting up a Rs 150-crore township, `AmbianceIsland' on the Delhi-Gurgaon highway.

The state-of-the-art hotel will be spread over 17 acres of land and willhave all the ultra modern facilities, Mr Gehlot said.

The company has already purchased the land and has commenced constructionactivities. We hope to sign the agreement soon, he said. The hotel is comingup next to the `Ambiance Island', an integrated township being developed byHLF Enterprises on the Delhi-Gurgaon road.

The hotel's proximity to the international airport will help us tap moreforeign tourists, he said.

Delhi and its surrounding areas are seeing a flurry of hotels and as many as800 five-star rooms are coming up in Gurgaon. As many as six new hotelproperties are coming up in the area in 3-5 star category. It includes a150-room hotels by Trident and Country Inns and Suites.

HLF's Rs 150-crore integrated township project on the Delhi-Gurgaon road isspread over 60 acres and is expected to be completed over the next fewmonths. Most of the flats have already been sold out, Mr Gehlot said.

The first phase of project will be completed by the middle of this year andthe second phase by December next year. The possession of flats is expectedto be handed by Diwali this year, he said. The second phase involves settingup of multiplexes, medical facilities and educational institutions in theintegrated township.

Although the company is planning another township in the near future, but MrGehlot refused to divulge further details about the project. "The advantagewith our residential project and hotel is the proximity to Delhi as it isright on the border," he said.

The residential project has 318 apartments spread over 13 blocks and areready to move-in and does not require any rework. The complex will have a24-hour power back-up, covered car parking space in twin-level basement,recreation centres, health club and high-speed elevators. The company hasalready developed projects in and around Delhi.
