Mumbai, Feb 27 : Jet Airways has been awarded the `market development award'for upgrading the concept of air travel to that of a world class airline.According to a press release, this award has been conferred by Air TransportWorld (ATW), a leading aviation magazine of the US. The award was presentedto Jet Airways chairman Naresh Goyal at ATW's 27th annual award function atWashington, USA.The award is given to an airline which has developed a new market, acustomer base, and done exciting things, the press release states. Animportant consideration in the selection is whether the airline is makingany success with a new programme. Besides market development, Jet Airways has also been felicitated for makinghealthy return on investment and being profitable every year since it beganflying on May 5, 1993.
