Soya farming meet in Indore Soyabean, with its significant position in the domestic edible oils market has radically improved rural economy of states like Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Considering the role of the product in improving the rural economy, the Soyabean Processors' Association (Sopa), Indore is planning `India Soya Forum - 2001,' a two-day meet on March 17 and 18. Over 20 foreign experts in different disciplines of soyabean and 25 experts from India would share their views and expertise at the seminar.GK Gupta to head textiles panel Mr Ganesh Kumar Gupta has been appointed as the new chairman of the Textiles Committee by the ministry of textiles. The appointment, effective from March 6, 2001 will be for a period of two years. Mr Gupta is the chief executive of Vijay Silk House and is the chairman of the Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council.
