New Delhi : Consilnet India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Consilnet Inc of the US, has signed an agreement with Satyam Infoway to provide DSL-based broadband high speed Internet access to hotels, apartments and office blocks.The company has also completed its first project at Hotel Park Royal in New Delhi where the company has set up the network to provide 24 hour uninterrupted broadband Internet access.According to Mr Pankaj Thakar, director of Consilnet India, Consilnet deploys digital subscriber loop (DSL) technology amongst others, which divides a telephone line's frequency in two parts, data and voice, thus delivering uninterrupted high speed access round-the clock Internet access. As per the tie-up with Satyam Infoway, the company provides all the equipment and technical expertise to set up DSL network in a premises while Satyam will offer bandwidth and content to the network.
A portal is being developed by Satyam for the content which will provide information about 130 cities of India and will provide online connectivity to Railways, airlines and tour operators.
