MyZus unveils integratedcontent delivery platform

Kavita Nair
MyZus Infotech Services Pvt Ltd, a startup founded by a couple of IIT graduates with angel funding to the tune of $600,000, has launched an integrated content delivery platform that delivers user-selected content through a wide variety of mobile channels like WAP-enabled cell phones, PDAs, voice telephony devices etc. The company has just embarked on a soft launch of the product and is in talks with international telecom players to adopt its product.

Mr Roshan D'Silva CEO, MyZus, says "At present you can access WAP-enabled content on the Web using a WAP-enabled cell phone through a piece of software infrastructure called a WAP gateway. What we are coming out with is a unified gateway which will let any device, not necessarily WAP-enabled or voice-enabled, connect to any sort of content on the Web."

This product consists of a complete infrastructure. The WAP-enabled cell phone, voice-based devices like a land line or a normal cell phone, or PDAs or thin clients like smart phones - all these devices can be Internet-enabled through a single unified gateway that MyZus is building in between them. This gateway automatically goes out and fetches the content from the Internet and translates it to real time to a format which these devices can understand. This is then pushed back to the user, in real time and dynamically.

There is a degree of intelligence that is built into the gateway which takes care of repetitive actions. Mr D'silva explains, "One of the problems on any thin client is that most of the actions that a user performs are repetitive and this repetition slows down the process. Here time is money, and the user is being billed per minute. MyZus has transferred some of the intelligence on to the gateway. As a result, most of the repetitive actions are performed on the gateway level and not on the client. The result is, cost to the user can be cut over five times, which is the product's USP" according to D'Silva.

Mr D'silva said that they would be raising the next round of funding in the next 3-4 months. MyZus plans to concentrate on the European and South East Asian markets.
