Shri Shakti LPG teams up with AVML Auto of Lanka for exports

R Ravichandran
Hyderabad, Aug 25: Shri Shakti LPG Ltd, part of the Rs 500-crore Shri Shakti Group, has entered into a pact with AVML Auto Gas of Colombo, for exporting its recently developed LPG fuel conversion kits.

"We have bagged orders for 10,000 LPG auto fuel kits to be delivered during the financial year from our Sri Lankan partner", DV Manohar, chairman, Shri Shakti group, told The Financial Express. The company had earlier supplied 100 kits initially in May to test market the product in Sri Lanka, Manohar said adding the order is worth Rs 5 crore. The company is eyeing the huge export market. Manohar said more orders were expected from the Sri Lankan partner.

Manohar said the company was holding talks with various multinationals for joint venture in the areas of LPG, LPG auto kits and appliances. He, however, refused to divulge the names of companies. He further said that the company was also looking at OEMs for supply of LPG auto kits. Shri Shakti LPG has also developed the LPG auto kit for two-wheelers. It would soon launch the product, Manohar said adding that there were 3 crore two-wheelers plying in India.

"Our focus will be mainly on converting existing 3-wheelers and two-wheelers rather than new vehicles," he said.
