Packaged for a perfect fit

Huma siddiqui
Indians are travelling a great deal today. And holiday resorts across the country are coming up with several packages to lure these travellers. Among these are Devi Garh in Rajasthan, the Renaissance Goa Resort and the Shilon Resort in Shimla.

Devi Garh, the luxury boutique hotel in Rajasthan, has two attractive getaway packages on offer. The Devi Garh Palace Package and the Devi Garh Garden Suite Package both allow discerning travellers to luxuriate in this beautiful fort palace near Udaipur.

Marketed by Boutique Hotels India, a division of Apeejay Surrendra Hotels, Devi Garh has 23 spectacular suites and seven tents, each embellished with exemplary facilities. The weekend packages are valid from Friday night to Sunday. The Devi Garh Palace Package is priced at Rs 21,999 or $500 for double occupancy and Rs 15,999 or $400 for single occupancy. This includes limousine transfer from the airport, a welcome gift, breakfast and dinner, a bottle of champagne and a day's sightseeing in Udaipur.

If you opt for the Devi Garh Garden Suite Package, you get to stay in an exclusive garden suite, with a private lobby and tented terrace. The package costs Rs 15,900 or $400 for double occupancy and Rs 12,999 or $350 for single occupancy, with all the other perks of the previous package thrown in. Both packages are valid till September 30, 2000.

The Renaissance Goa Resort, an exclusive five-star resort, also has exciting holiday packages that are available till September 30, 2000. There are a wide range of discounts for the holiday-maker on a variety of special services and fun-filled activities.

Located on the white sands of Varca beach in South Goa, which has been heralded as Goa's cleanest beach, the Renaissance Goa Resort offers the complete holiday experience to its guests, beginning with the complimentary pick-up at the airport and the comfortable first class lounge provided for Renaissance guests at the company owned Airport Plaza next to Dabolim Airport.

The special discounted rates start as low as Rs 5,555 for two persons for two nights, and Rs 7,777 for three nights. With airfare included, the rate is Rs 7,280 for double occupancy for two nights and Rs 8,390 for three nights.

For sport-lovers, the hotel offers a variety of activities at the health club, which contains a jacuzzi, sauna and gymnasium, and can provide Ayurvedic and Swedish massages. The property also holds a 1,OOO metre scenic jogging trail, a challenging three par nine-hole golf course, two floodlit tennis courts of international standards, two large fresh-water pools with a swim-up bar for adults and a separate children's pool area, and column free conference facilities.

Goa Nugget, the Las Vegas style slot casino, is located right next to the conference hall.A natural high, that's what describes Shilon Resort, the flagship of UG Hotels and Resorts Ltd, at its best. Perched atop a plateau peak at a height of 7,200 ft, this holiday resort in Shimla is ideal for mountain gazing, rejuvenation, the round-the-clock pine-scented fresh air being conducive to all this and more. The best thing about the Shilon Resort, however, is its 360 degree view of the valley and pine and snow covered peaks. At a distance, stand the mighty Kinner Kailash and Choor Chandni ranges, straddling the glorious Himalayan range amidst cotton white wisps of mist.
