New Delhi: Growell Information India Limited (GIIL) has announced the launch of Growell IT'Skool to offer internationally accredited and certified IT education to school kids across the country. The market for IT education for school kids in the age group of three to 16 years is estimated at Rs 18,000 crore a year.Growell's investment is expected to be around Rs 4.5 crore. According to the company, the current investment stands at Rs 75 lakh, which is expected to touch Rs 2 crore by March 2001.
The GIIL will provide comprehensive IT education with international certification, including hardware, trained teachers, system administrator and course material in the school premises. The programme is accredited with NCC, UK.
According to Jitendra Mantri, CEO, GIIPL: ``Children will have the option of joining Growell IT'Skool centres or their franchisees that are currently being developed. Our revenue streams will be: fees from school, franchisee license fees, royalty from the franchisee on an annual basis, and revenue from Growell IT'Skool Centres.''
The franchisee revenue for the financial year 2000-01 is expected to be around Rs 2.5-3 crore. each Growell IT'Skool is expected to account for around 40 lakh in revenues. Growell expects to break even in the first year of its operations. Beginning with 100 schools in Maharastra, GIIPL will expand to other states. It will also develop 60 franchisees in the year 2000-01.
Growell has tied up with Computer Assisted Learning division (CAL) of Informatics Holdings Ltd, Singapore.
