Mumbai, Aug 13: Truck freight rates from Mumbai to various parts of the country remained stable as the cargo movement and vehicles availability equalized. In the coming week, truck rates for nine-tonne load vehicles may firm up if the cargo movement improves, transporters said.Last week, the freight rates to some northern and western states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat remained firm as authorities in these states withdrew the `golden card scheme'which allowed transporters to overload their vehicles against a fixed amount. Last week, the truck rates to Jaipur were up by Rs 300 to Rs 10,800 while rates to Bharathpur were steady at Rs 11,600. The rates to Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh were steady. Rates to Baroda were at Rs 4,400 while those to Satna were at Rs 12,200. Freight rates to Indore were at Rs 5,700.
Freight rates to states in upper northern sector such as Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh also remained range-bound.
Truck rates to Jammu were marginally down by Rs 100 to Rs 20,000, while freight rates to Baramullah fell by Rs 200 to Rs 24,000.
The Mumbai to Delhi rates were steady at Rs 13,000. Rates to neighbouring states Haryana and Punjab remained stable.
Freight rates to Bihar too remained stable. Rates to Patna were at Rs 20,000 while those to Hazaribagh were at Rs 20,500.
Rates to Tata-Jamshedpur were Rs 17,000. Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh rates too were steady. Rates to Lucknow were at Rs 13,400. Truck rates to Kanpur were at Rs 12,500.
In the east, Mumbai to Assam rates continued to remain stable. Truck rates to Guwahati were at Rs 34,700 while those to Tinsukhia were at Rs 43,000.
Rates to Calcutta were at Rs 22,500. Rates to southern states were also stable. Truck rates to Vijayawada dropped marginally by Rs 100 to Rs 11,200. Rates to Chennai were at Rs 13,500 while rates to Cochin were at Rs 16,100.
