Mphasis-BFL sets up development centre for Israeli co
Mphasis-BFL has estalished EDC-a dedicated development centre for E-sim, an Israeli infotech company in India. The development centre would provide advanced simulation capability for wireless and electronic product design as well as web-based solutions to the consumer electronics industry by using E-sim's advanced Internet-based simulation technology, the company said in a release on Tuesday. E-sim would also receive `live product' and `emanuals' simulations along with CD versions, it said adding Mphasis-BFL also plans to set up a dedicated link from India to US for the EDC as a part of its future strategy.Omni AX Software ties up with UK firm
Omni AX's Software Ltd (OASL), the Chennai-based software development, corporate training and consultancy company, has signed an MoU with Inspiration Group of the UK for marketing software related services on contract and turnkey basis in Europe. Omni has negotiated orders worth Rs 500 lakh from USA for Internet products. The compnay already has tie-ups with Tata Infotech and Oracle Corp to offer training programs in their latest IT products and in in the process of expanding its activities, according to a press release on Tuesday. The company is specializing in web-based, client-server and object oriented technologies.
BEA WebLogic wins Java Pro Reader's choice award
BEA Systems Inc, the e-commerce transactions company, has bagged three JavaPro Reader's Choice Awards at the second annual Java Technology Achievement Awards held in San Francisco in conjunction with the Sun Microsystems' 5th Annual JavaOne Developer Conference. JavaPro Readers selected BEA WebLogic Server 5.1 as the Best Java Application Server and BEA WebLogic Enterprise 5.0 as the Best Java Middleware Product. BEA WebLogic Commerce Server 2.0 was the award recipient in the Best Java Bean or component category. Srikanth S Rao, country manager, BEA Systems India said, "BEA's solutions are providing the Indian market with technological excellence''.
Morelinux to create niche space in US
Pune-Based Morelinux.com is drawing up plans to enter the US market with a suite of Linux-based products, including a POP3 mail software, and its own version of Linux specifically for thin client and mobile device applications. The company is set to commence marketing and support operations in the US.
