Chennai, June : Agriculture universities and corporate houses are trying to introduce in India, suitable tools that have so far only been available in developed countries.The Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TANU) and the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) are organising an international agricultural exhibition, "(Agri Intex 2000)" in Coimbatore, from August 29 to September 3, 2000.
The exhibition is expected to focus on techniques and technologies to improve productivity. The exhibition will also highlight development opportunities in modern agriculture.
Agri Intex 2000 has the support of global agricultural machinery manufacturers, process equipment producers, universities, research and development institutions, and fertiliser manufacturing companies.The agriculture exhibition will also organise technical sessions, seminars, worskshops, conferences and symposiums during the fair.
Participants and trade visitors, scientists, policy makers and progressive farmers from countries like Israel, Japan, the US, Holland, Denmark, and Australia are expected.
