New-look Sensex takes off with 224 pts jump
The script was ready, only the play had to be enacted. The bellwether 30-share revamped Sensex, aided by a rally in the technology stocks, on Monday followed the scrip to perfection. It opened on a strong note, and by close of trading had zoomed 223.66 points to 5442.86 points.

The revamped Sensex has indeed moved at a faster rate than its unchanged version might have moved. This was on expected lines as the new additions in the index include market favourites Zee Telefilms and Satyam Computers.
