Chennai, Oct 27: SkyCell Communications Limited has introduced new airtime tariffs from November, the start of the calling party pays regime. To provide maximum utility to the subscriber a new scheme called ``Just 2 for 3'' this airtime tariff plan offers three whole minutes of outgoing talktime for Rs 2 while incoming calls are free. According to company spokesperson Dibagh Gill the plan allows subscribers to complete the call without constantly looking at the watch. There are no peak and offpeak hours while other value added services like call waiting, holding and forwarding are for free.SkyCell has also launched ``Prestige'' an innovative plan which allows a subscriber to cap airtime bill at zero. This plan in addition to incoming free calls also gives the customer to the first two minutes of outgoing call free. According to statistics, most calls get completed in two minutes.
In addition to TRAI's recommended plans, SkyCell is offering the `Standard CPP' where the plan attracts a monthly rental of Rs 475. There are two time slabs - Standard hours from 10 AM to 9 PM which attracts a flat airtime tariff of Rs 4 per minute and concessional tariff hours from 9 PM to 10 AM which attracts a tariff of Rs 3.90 per minute. The granularity of the call will be 60 seconds for the first minute and 30 seconds thereafter. With these schemes in place the company which is currently acquiring 2000 subscribers a month hopes to increase its base to 4000 a month.
Revenues are also expected to go up from Rs 40 crore to Rs 60 crore. SkyCell had earlier launched a `Rewards' programme wherein a customer automatically earns points as a percentage of the entire bill. While 20 leading outlets in Chennai are currently helping with the promotion of this programme, SkyCell will shortly mail to all its 24,000 subscribers details of this programme and gifts. Points accumulated will also be intimated to the customer on a periodic basis.
