New Delhi, Oct 27: Bausch & Lomb has reported a small net profit of Rs 0.07 crore on lower sales turnover of Rs 17.66 crore for the quarter ended September 1999.Sales turnover of the company was down by 17.5 per cent from corresponding figure of Rs 21.40 crore, while net profit plunged from a level of Rs 3.65 crore.
Total expenditure remained relatively constant at Rs 17.52 crore, as did other charges such as depreciation. Other income stood at Rs 0.81 crore.
A company statement issued here said that the sales and profit performance for the second quarter was significantly impacted by the lower exports as the parent company, having sold its global eyewear business to Luxottica SpA, was unable to place further order.
