Total knowledge builds professional skills

A D PRADEEP KUMAR
The human brain is more powerful than any computer. But we only use a fraction of our brain because we are not trained to use it to the fullest. We are also not aware of the cosmic nature of our brain. Modern education lacks `Total Knowledge' and the means to enliven human consciousness. As a result, education only partially develops the functionality of the brain.

In contrast to the education prevalent today, the technologies of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's `Vedic science' have been found to awaken the latent potential of the human brain. For instance, Professor N N Lyubimov of the Moscow Brain Institute established that those practising Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's transcendental meditation gave one access to hidden brain reserves-the holistic value of brain functioning.

The Maharishi Institute of Post-graduate Studies, to be run by Maharishi's Vedic Vishwa Prashasan, plans to train professionals from different disciplines on ways to ``make use of their total brain potential'', to make available to everyone totalknowledge for the enlightenment of the individual and for a problem-free, progressive society. The Maharishi Institute of Post-graduate Studies will start functioning in Mumbai from January next year.

An international delegation of scientists who were in Mumbai at the inaugural ceremony of the institute emphasised the scientific basis of the training programmes of the institute. They emphasised that the total potential of the human brain can now be systematically developed by everyone to increase perfection in life. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi said in a special video-taped address: ``Everyone is the expression of Total Knowledge, with the ability to know anything, do anything, and achieve any great goal. This enormous potential within the physiology and intelligence of everyone can now be completely unfolded to bring all aspects of life to perfection and create a peaceful harmonious world.''

According to Maharishi, there are two directions to knowledge: from unity to diversity, and from diversity to unity. Thepresent system of education explores diversity. It is inadequate to activate the full range of the brain. What is needed is a realisation of the natural law that governs total knowledge. This institute will attempt to make a study on how diversity emerges from unity, to study the common basis of all disciplines. The basis of diversity is unity. The unified field has been discovered from the field of consciousness, which is self referral.

By studying the common basis of all knowledge, anyone can find the missing link. Man can then penetrate all knowledge. He will realise that he is the source of all knowledge -- Aham Viswam, Aham Brahmasmi.

According to Dr Volker Schanbacher, one of the delegate members at the inaugural ceremony, the field of total knowledge, the unified level of nature's functioning, has been identified by modern physics as the unified field of natural law.

Leading quantum physicists have shown the properties of the unified field of natural law to be identical to those of transcendentalconsiousness. This field of pure consciousness can be directly experienced and utilised through the `Maharishi's Vedic Technologies of Consciousness'.

Maharishi's Vedic Science and Technology of Consciousness makes this knowledge practical for total development of individuals and society.

The experience of the unified field by large groups of individuals practising Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Programme, creates the Maharishi Effect-the field effect of consciousness at the level of the unified field, which creates coherence and harmony in society. According to eminent neuro-scientist, Tony Nader, who was honoured in 1998 for his scientific discovery of the `total intelligence of natural law-Veda and the Vedic literature-in human physiology', executives and administrators use only a small percentage of their cosmic nature.

The use of the total brain will enable everyone to live this cosmic potential in their daily life, raising leaders in every field to perfection.Recent experimentshave found `functional holes' in the brains of individuals who are not using their full potential. For example, in Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), a test based on the detection of photons emitted from active parts of the brain, large holes have been found even in the brains of so-called normal people. It supports the common scientific understanding that average people only use a fraction of their full brain potential. Larger holes are seen in the brains of people who use alcohol or drugs. When one's full creative potential is used, there will be no holes in the brain.

Nader explained that increasing coherence in the national consciousness raises the ability of the people, thus enabling leaders to be truly successful in fulfilling their goals, supported by the infinite creative intelligence of the natural law that administers the universe with perfect order.

He discovered under Maharishi's guidance that the 40 areas of the Veda and the Vedic literature correspond precisely in structureand function to the 40 areas of the human physiology-that the inner intelligence of the body is the Veda. According to Nader, this discovery has unfolded the secrets of the orderly functioning of all the organs of the body and revealed how this orderliness can unfold to its supreme value expressing the absolute order in the inifinite diversity of the universe.

In a related research, Nader has also discovered that the fundamental impulses of the natural law, the `Vedic devatas' are the governing intelligence of the human physiology and that the sun, moon, planets and stars are the cosmic counterparts of individual physiology. These discoveries reveal that `the individual is really cosmic'.

The Maharishi's Vedic science makes clear that this cosmic value of the individual can be lived in daily life through the knowledge and technologies of the 40 areas of the Veda and Vedic literature. According to Dr Michael Dillbeck, another member of the delegation, the experience of transcendental consciousness enlivensthe total functioning of the human brain, and that more than 600 scientific research studies conducted at over 200 universities in 30 countries, confirm the holistic benefits of Maharishi's transcendental meditation and TM-Sidhi programmes.

According to Dillbeck, education is responsible for developing the quality of thinking that leads to successful action. This quality of thinking is spontaneously gained only when the brain is fully enlivened through the experience of transcendental consciousness.

Dillbeck said that over 40 years of scientific research on TM showed that by adding one period per day of study and research in consciousness in any university or school, one greatly enhanced the quality of thinking of people. The new institute will use this system of training to prepare professionals in every area of society to raise their brain-power to perfection.

The institute will take advantage of these most advanced scientific discoveries in consciousness and physiology to train working professionalsto gain total knowledge and impart it to their professional colleagues.
