Firms on demat list to sign up by Oct 31: Sebi

Sebi has asked all companies in the list of 56 scrips mandated for compulsory dematerialised trading to sign up with a depository before October 31, 1999. "Barring 11 companies, all the companies mandated for compulsory demat trading from November 29, 1999 have signed up with NSDL, Sebi executive director (secondary markets) Pratip Kar told PTI.

A clarification

With reference to the article on Geometric Software dated October 15, the company has clarified that the fiscal year's EPS is Rs 26.84, the offer price is Rs 300 is based on the post-bonus number of shares. Thus the post-bonus EPS (retrospective to 31.3.99) is Rs 10.74 and the PE on March 31, 1999 earning is Rs 27.93.
