IE to jointly host Intelligent Enterprise

Mumbai, Oct 21: Miller Freeman and the Business Publications Division of The Indian Express Group are teaming up to host Intelligent Enterprise '99, a conference and exhibition for enterprises.

The event, aimed at providing Indian corporates an insight into enterprise management issues, will cover key themes like ERP, e-commerce and computer telephony.

The three-day seminar will have titans from the IT industry including Computer Associates chairman and chief executive Charles Wang and president and chief operating officer Sanjay Kumar. FC Kohli, a well-known figure in the Indian IT circles, will also give a keynote address during the event. Other prominent speakers include HP India president Ganesh Ayyar and VSNL director, operations, Amitabh Kumar.

A prominent official of the US government is expected to participate in the event. Companies like CA, TCS, Sybase and Tata Technologies will showcase their wares and solutions at the exhibition. The sponsors of the event include JD Edwards, the international financial and accounting software company.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) will be conducting a professional review to determine the profile of visitors to the event as also the quality of the exhibition and facilities. This is the first time a scientific method has been applied to audience mapping in an Indian event. "We plan to make this an annual feature and demonstrate our seriousness of intent. PwC has been roped in to provide an external assessment," Indian Express group chief executive officer K Digvijay Singh said.

The supporting organisations include Indian Merchants Chamber, the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Indian ERP forum.

Miller Freeman, a subsidiary of the United News and Media group, is the world's largest independent exhibition organiser. The business publications division of the Indian Express group is one of the fastest growing publishing houses in the country and has recently ventured into trade shows and exhibitions.
