Mumbai, Oct 21: Availability of adequate bandwidth has transformed the WWW into the World Wide Wait. And creating enough bandwidth costing a fortune, hardware companies have come up with larger and better cache servers to solve the issue for corporates to an extent but hardly anything has been done to help the individual PC user.Mumbai-based Vakrangee Software Ltd has developed an internet application software, CyberSaver, which it says will solve the problems of the individual PC user to a certain extent. The software has features like offline Net surfing, which allows a user to surf selected sites even after disconnecting. "This saves your internet time and money," says company chief executive Mahesh Kumar Singh.
The software uses the information-gathering technology. The user needs to just enter a site or sites and then disconnect. The user can go search every site again and again by clicking on the `back' and `forward' buttons.
Another feature is the automatic completion of the Web page which allows users to be automatically connected to a particular site once reconnected. The software picks up the rest of the pages left in the site within seconds and you can disconnect again.
Online memory detection allows the user to be notified about the storage capacity of his system. But the exciting part, may be for the Web enthusiast, is the display of written code to build each site he visits.
Vakrangee Software also offers services like creating database and system integration services, network solutions and ERP consulting.
The company is implementing integration of electoral roll and supply of application software for the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). It is also working with C-DAC for providing turnkey solutions to state governments for the same software. "We are in the process of finalising several agreements with the government agency," Vakrangee director N Hayatnagarkar said.
Other plans include setting up a subsidiary in Italy to promote software exports in the European region.
