The net sales of the company increased by 11.75 per cent during the first half to Rs 233.98 crore (Rs 209.36 crore). Total expenditure of the company for the half-year has been Rs 179.96 crore. Interest and depreciation charges have been provided for Rs 24.17 crore and Rs 31.26 crore respectively.

TNPL had exported 6966 metric tonnes of wood-free printing and writing paper till September 30, 1999 compared with the total exports of 5608 mt during the last financial year 1998-99. With good export orders at hand, the company is confident of touching a target of 15,000 mt before the end of the current fiscal, said a company statement released on Thursday. The export list of the firm has been widened to include countries such as Australia, the Philippines, Syria, Nigeria and Myanmar during the current year.
