Mini K Joseph
Bangalore, Oct 3: The Chennai-based Sterling Group's internet service provider (ISP) division, Dishnet Ltd, is targeting to become the largest ISP firm in the country, according to company director (technical) J Vijay.

To beat competition, Dishnet plans to set up its own internet gateway. As of now, the company offers ISDN, lease line and Web hosting services, said Vijay.

Dishnet recently launched an education portal (www.education.eth.net), ETH Internet Freedon Plan in Bangalore. Subscribers to this scheme can access the site at a one-time payment of Rs 3,600, for an hour per day, for a period of five years. For every additional hour of surfing, users have to pay Rs 10. The facility would soon be launched in Mumabai and Delhi as well, said Vijay.

He said the company plans to set up internet browsing centres in select cities including Bangalore. Dishnet would also launch a series of highly-interactive games on the Net. Initially, there would be 15 types of games and later it would be increased to 100,Vijay said.
