Copper prices pick up on fresh demand

New Delhi, July 11: Copper prices picked up on the non-ferrous metal market on emergence of buying and closed higher. Marketmen said higher overseas advices and a rise on the London Metal Exchange influenced the trading sentiment.

Copper rod was up by Rs.4 at Rs.119 and copper wire by by Rs.4 at Rs.122 per kilo respectively. Copper wire bar was higher by a same margin at Rs.115 per kilo.

Following were quotations in Rs per kg: Tin ingot 380, solder (40 per cent) 166, nickel 332, zinc slab 78.50, Zinc dros 58, bell metal scrap 152, copper wire bar 115, copper rod 119, copper wire 122, copper scrap 98, chadripital 79, brass sheet cutting 83 and brass boring 67-68, according to report. Lead ingot 36.50, lead imported 41-43, aluminium (22 gauge) 97-98, the report added. Aluminium (30 gauge) 107-108, aluminium (36 gauge) 115-119, aluminium rod 90, aluminium cg ingot 82, aluminium wire scrap 78 and aluminium utensils scrap 67.
