Markets may lord over US-64 as equity kitty swells 80%
The US-64 scheme has been pushed into deeper trouble by Unit Trust of India's pursuit of equities to bail out the scheme. Between June 1998 and December 1998, UTI has added more and more equities at the cost of fixed income investments including government securities.
Unit Trust's offshore information technology fund attracts $ 50 mn
The Unit Trust of India's (UTI) first off-shore IT sector specific fund -- the India Information Technology Fund -- has mobilised around $ 50 million in the last fortnight. The trust has set a target of mobilising around $ 75 million in the scheme.
