Cabinet approves corporatisation of five international airports
The Union Cabinet on Wednesday gave an in-principle approval for the corporatisation of five international airports in the country. The airports which will be corporatised are Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai and Bangalore.

Union power minister P R Kumaramangalam, on Wednesday offered state electricity boards proportional reduction in surcharge on power purchased from the Centre if they pay their dues.

In a major policy initiative, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved a textiles ministry proposal to set up a Rs 25,000 crore technology upgradation fund scheme for the textile as well as the jute sector.
