G-7 pact lifts global gloom; US shares surge
Stocks have rallied in the Americas, buoyed by a new set of policies from leading industrial nations aimed at shoring up the global financial system. The IMF will get an extra $90 billion to tackle credit crunch in afflicted countries.
Skindia GDR Index rises a shade
The eight-point revival package announced by the prime minister helped the infrastructure related industry GDRs rebound. Reflecting the improved sentiment at the GDR markets, the Skindia GDR index inched up by 1.42% to close at 522.60 points on October 29.
Badla rates stabilise at 12% on Mumbai bourse
Carryforward rates on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) improved to touch a high of 13.06%, however stabilised in the band of 11.59%-12.68% annualised. The total outstanding value of carryforward business on the bourse was marked at Rs 735.25 crore.
