Pond's India dividend plan: Pond's (India) Ltd has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange that, the payment of the second interim dividend to the shareholders is subject to the approval of Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL). The company has said that in accordance with clause 10 of the scheme of arrangement between Pond's and HLL and their shareholders, Pond's shall not declare dividend for the period commencing from and after January 1, 1998 without the consent of HLL.
IIT Delhibusiness incubation centre: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has launched a Technology & Business Incubation Centre (TBIC) for first-generation entrepreneurs and start-up companies. TBIC will support for first time entrepreneurs with new business ideas, concept, service or product, Foundation for Innovation & Technology Transfer (FITT) managing director AK Sengupta said. TBIC, to be located in the IIT campus itself, will provide infrastructure support including Internet connectivity besides offering corporate membership of FIIT, an industry interface arm of IIT.
`E-commerce to grow rapidly': Electronic commerce (e-commerce) will gain rapid acceptance in the world and could even result in many super stores closing down, marketing guru Philip Kotler has said. E-commerce, with the twin advantages of reducing time and cost for the companies, will also help customers to receive goods at their doorsteps. Speaking at a workshop on winning through value-oriented marketing, Kotler saidworldwide most companies are still following the text book concept of marketing. Companies need to move from this stage to interpreneurial stage where they can think of more dynamic marketing strategies, Kotler added.
Hotel body election: The Pune-based Trident Trbjsijo Pvt Ltd's managing director Prem Tiwari has been elected as a member of the managing committee of the Hotel & Restaurant Association (western India) in its 48th annual general meeting held in Mumbai.
