Ahmedabad, Oct 12: A consortium of 17 Dutch companies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat for the modernisation and upgradation of civil hospitals and dispensaries in the state. The project is likely to be launched at the state capital next month.Ernst Noorman of Royal Netherlands Embassy told Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) here that the World Bank was also looking closely at the project. Philips has already committed a donation of Rs 3 crore for MRI machine to be installed in January at one of the 72 government-owned medical centres in the state. The areas to be covered included mother and child care, ophthalmic science, trauma care and kidney diseases.
Noorman said that the Netherlands having one of the most modern ports at Rotterdam was having collaboration with Gujarat government for the development of infrastructure, including a number of ports in the state. He said that Dutch companies were keen to invest and share their technology inpollution control, energy conservation, food processing, bio-technology, construction and marine industry.
