Delicensing will affect price, supply, say Maharashtra sugar mills
Cooperative sugar factories from Maharashtra have reacted sharply against the BJP-led government's decision to delicense the sugar industry and reduce the minimum distance between two factories from a radius of 25 km to 15 km.
Hegde assures duty relief for branded tea
Union commerce minister Ramakrishna Hegde assured the tea industry that the government will either scrap the 8% excise on packaged-branded tea that was levied in the budget or increase the import duty on tea from south Asian countries.
