Bharti Global hiking equity in two group firms
Bharti Global, an overseas subsidiary of the Sunil Mittal-promoted Bharti Enterprises, is hiking its equity in two group companies - Bharti Telecom and Bharti Healthcare. The proposal was cleared by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board on Saturday. The FIPB decided to defer the application of Daewoo Power to divest 50 per cent equity to ABB Ltd.
Core Healthcare develops new general anaesthetic product
The Ahmedabad-based Core Healthcare has developed a new general anaesthetic product - branded Profol (propofol) - in India, making it the fifth company globally to manufacture this product. Propofol is a short-acting general anaesthetic agent and a superior alternative compared to existing products, in terms of the patient's post-surgery recovery profile.
Orchid plans sildenafil citrate formulations
Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has applied to the Drug Controller for permission to manufacture sildenafil citrate formulations for sale within the country and abroad. The application has not been cleared yet, but is expected soon. While four of the raw material components would be imported, the rest (constituting around 26 items, will be available locally).
