Centre asked to scout for fresh product lines
In its latest report tabled in both Houses of Parliament, the parliamentary standing committee on commerce has recommended that the government expand vastly the qualities currently available with the national test house and similar other agencies. The committee has asked for augmented budgetary provisions to meet the needs of the Union commerce ministry.
CII plans exposition on core development
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is organising Infranet'98- an international conference cum exposition on networking for infrastructure development -- between October 22 and 24 this year in the capital. The aim of the event is to look at areas beyond telecom and power.
Maharashtra to unveil comprehensive information technology package
The Maharashtra government has taken the cue from Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in wooing information technology (IT) and software players to the state. The government will release a comprehensive IT and software development policy in the ensuing monsoon session of the state legislature commencing July 20.
