A Singh bags awardAero group chairman Avtaar Singh has been awarded "Doyen of the Leather Industry" by the Council for Leather Exports.
Aero group is better known as the makers of Woodland range of casual footwear and apparels. The Woodland range of footwear was launched in mid-1992 in India after the collapse of the USSR and the East European markets. According to the company, the pioneering efforts of Singh in research and development have provided strong footing for the Aero group.
K Srinivas is CEO of Gilbert K Srinivas, 35, has been appointed the chief executive officer of Gilbert Tweed Management Group Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between Delhi-based executive search firm -- The Management Group and New York based-Gilbert Tweed International.
The joint venture had become operational on January 1, 1998.
Srinivas, an engineer by training, and a management graduate started his career with Siemens. In 1994, he joined ABC Consultants to head its Bangalore office. In 1996, Srinivas moved toMumbai and was in charge of the western region operations.
P Dham to head UG Hotels
Prem Dham has been appointed as group president of UG Hotels and Resorts, which owns the Shilon Resort in Shimla. He was a consultant (acquisition and development) of East India Hotels (EIH) Ltd (vacation club division), a member of the Oberoi group of hotels.
Dham who has over 20 years experience in the hospitality and hoteliering business has represented clients such as Inter-Continental Hotels, Leela group, Taj group, ITC, Quality Inns, and Park Plaza Hotel. Besides India, he has had the experience of developing and operating hotels in Europe too.
