CHENNAI, February 12: Adversity is said to bring out the best in one. For the public relations agency Good Relations the loss of the Indian Hotels account was perhaps a blessing in disguise.Less than four months after the loss, the agency has bounced back strongly. In an account-bagging spree, it has signed up with Futurekids Asia, which is a part of the Chettinad Group, Complete Business Solutions India (CBSI) and Grundig Electronics in Chennai. It is learnt that till these accounts were bagged, the mainstay of the Chennai office was the Indian Hotels account.
In Mumbai, Good Relations has bagged the Prudential ICICI account and in Delhi, it has signed up with Population Services International-India which specialises in marketing of health products and also assists the government of India in the field of family planning and Acquired Immuno deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) prevention.
It was reported earlier that Good Relations lost the the Indian Hotels account after being associated with it for almost 10years. Good Relations was set up by Anthony Good of the UK, a close associate of the former chairman and managing director of Indian Hotels, AB Kerkar.
Good relations is a subsidiary of Cox & Kings (C&K), India in which the majority 40 per cent stake is held by UK parent C&K while 11 per cent is held by the Kerkar family.
About 26 per cent is controlled by PIEM, a Taj associate and a 23 per cent by individuals and employees. The Indian operations are managed by director, Peter Kerkar.
