SHCIL may provide custodial services for debt instruments

[Details] The Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd has chalked out plans to provide custodial services for debt instruments. The custodian has initiated talks with the Securities Trading Corporation of India, to provide the Reserve Bank of India subsidiary with a range of custodial facilities.

Clearing house can be entrusted to corporation: Dhanuka pane

[Details] The Dhanuka committee, set up to review the Securities Regulation and Contract Act, 1956, has finalised a provision under which the functioning of an exchange's clearing house can be entrusted to a clearing corporation, subject to Securties and Exchange Board of India approval.

Centre permission for futures trading in 17 commodities likely

[Details] The Union government is likely to give the go ahead to futures trading in 17 commodities except silver in a phased manner within the next five years as suggested by the Kabra committee. Trading will be allowed initially in non-edible commodities, edible commodities will be taken up later.
